Homeschool moms come to me when they don't know where else to turn...

After purchasing multiple curriculum packages. Scouring the internet. Overplanning. Underplanning. Second-guessing.

Do you feel like you've tried everything? Not sure if you're doing enough? Or just don't know where to start?

So many of my homeschooling clients often wonder if they’re doing it right.

Every homeschool parent goes through periods of overwhelm, doubt, and confusion.

But no matter how many resources you purchase, how many courses you take, how many FB groups you’re in, or how many hours you go searching and searching for the next resource that you think is going to solve all your problems--

Nothing quite compares to the opportunity to talk things through with a mentor.

I would be honored to mentor and support you!

Give yourself that time to plan, ask questions, vent, and unravel the tension. It's so uplifting!

I homeschooled for almost 25 years. And believe me, I've been in that stuck and overwhelmed place myself. I found my path when I started working with my mentor.

With one-on-one mentoring, you can:

  • Discover just the right resources for your family

  • Develop a daily rhythm that works

  • Make challenging decisions

  • Get your questions answered so you can get unstuck

And so much more.

You can move forward. You can relax. Because together, we will map out your path to a simple happy homeschool.

I offer sessions over the phone or through Zoom video conferencing. Or even via email. Your choice.

Our time together begins with a questionnaire so that I can really understand your needs.

During our session, we’ll tailor a plan just for you so that you can rest easier and relax into your homeschooling.

Hi there!

I'm Jean, mother of three (two boys and a girl), experienced homeschool educator, and homeschooling mentor. We started our homeschooling journey back in the 1990s - yup, awhile ago!

I have a Master of Arts in Teaching and have taught in both public and private schools. I've experimented with various educational methods and settings, and have been inspired by hands-on, experiential learning and the Waldorf approach.

When I brought these methods home to my own children, it was the most magical (and challenging) time of my life!

During the last 13 years, I've helped hundreds of parents find their way to thriving in homeschooling. And it's been such a joy.

In 2013, I founded Art of Homeschooling (originally Waldorf-Inspired Learning), where I offer mentoring, planning tools, an online membership community for ongoing support, and in-person retreats for homeschoolers.

I live in northeastern Ohio with my husband, Brian, (all three kids are now in their 20s and early 30s) where I love to hike, sing, read, and cook!

I feel incredibly honored to support so many families in homeschooling, parenting, and forging connections with our children.

What can I help you with?

  • Organizing and planning your main lesson blocks
  • Transitioning to homeschooling from another setting
  • Choosing resources that spark joy and engagement
  • Understanding the basic principles of the Waldorf approach and hands-on learning
  • How to work with rhythm in your family
  • Working with multiple ages
  • Understanding the principles of child development in relation to main lesson blocks
  • Homeschooling through high school, no matter what approach you use
  • Implementing the principles of Simplicity Parenting in your family life
  • Crafting a plan for inner work and self-care
  • Resource decluttering and simplification

I love these mamas...

Thank you for helping me give myself space, grace, and permission to tread this beautiful way of homeschooling with my daughter. I already know meeting you has made such a difference. Thank you for bringing knowledge, warmth, and delight for so many, and even generations to come.”
~Eunice, mother of one

For the first time, this feels sustainable. Even with 4 kids from ages 2 to 11, we have created the space to thrive.”
~Gina, mother of four

"I tried two other consultants, and neither compared to Jean by any stretch. I am so happy I found her. She takes the time to help me develop specific action plans and shares resources and information tailored to my particular needs. I walk away from each call with a plethora of new ideas, confirmations and resources. She is encouraging, very knowledgeable and has an overall positive energy that I can feel through the phone. What a blessing to have found such a great person and resource that I can turn to during this crazy and beautiful journey called homeschooling!
~Sarah, mother of two

"I found my way to Jean's work at just the right time. I am finally shedding some of my dogmatic thinking around Waldorf and realizing that the gifts I have as a homeschooling mother are really what my family needs and that I can embody the Waldorf ideals without worrying about how they compare to an actual Waldorf classroom. Jean's work is really affirming and freeing!"
~Monica, mother of two

"This week is really going well, and I want to tell you why. I got help. I stopped expecting myself to just be able to do it, and stopped beating myself up for being unable to effectively create a learning environment for my son, and got real.

For me, that was enlisting the help of Jean Miller. It turned things around. It gave me the confidence and clear directives to make this WORK FOR US.

Jean, thank you all for your patience with me. I know I will have ups and downs, but experience and action bring confidence, not the other way around. And my motivation and confidence create them for my child."
~Sara, mother of one

"All of Jean's ideas/resources/general reassurance just made me feel so much better. I came away with both a practical, realistic plan for the rest of the school year, as well as a sense of confidence that I haven't had until now. Jean is really great at what she does, and I'm so thankful she is sharing her knowledge and experience."
~Leah, mother of three

"I found Jean when I was feeling stuck with planning, and losing too much sleep and quality time with my family. Consulting with Jean has been inspiring! She is thoughtfully prepared for each call which leaves me with the tools I need every time. By the end of our calls, I find myself refocused and enthusiastic about moving ahead - and looking forward to a sound night's sleep!"
~Mindy, mother of one

Just Filling Out the Questionnaire Can Help!

A recent mentor client said to me, "I love filling out the questionnaire! It helps me streamline my thoughts.

I've had other homeschooling parents say similar things like "just filling out the questionnaire helped me begin to shift."
